1 NZ Farm Forestry Assn
This national organisation represents the interests of the small tree grower with 3000 members in 29 branches throughout New Zealand.
2 Wood Processors Assn
The Wood Processors Association of New Zealand (WPA) represents companies responsible for the primary processing of between 75 to 80 percent of New Zealand's wood. With annual export earnings of $3.2 billion and domestic sales of $1.5 billion, the forestry and wood processing industry is New Zealand's third largest export earner.

Representing New Zealand’s forestry professionals since 1927.
4 The Douglas-fir Association
The Douglas-fir Association comprises companies involved in either growing or processing and production of New Zealand grown Douglas-fir timber. Also known as NZ Oregon, it is well-known and well-utilised by industry specialists across the country. The Association was established in 2004 to co-ordinate and advocate industry-wide issues.
5 The Forest Biosecurity Research Council
The Forest Biosecurity Research Council is an unincorporated joint venture that has been established to oversee research to protect New Zealand's forests from biosecurity threats, such as insects and fungi, and also research to ensure safe and profitable trade in wood products. The Members considered that there was a need to ensure that limited research funds were as well targeted as possible at the key short- and long-term issues.Funding for the research programmes mainly comes from the Foundation for Research, Science & Technology through research grants to NZ Forest Research Institute Ltd (NZFRI) and to Lincoln Universitys Bio-protection Centre of Research Excellence (Lincoln CORE) and from a levy administered through the NZ Forest Owners Association.
6 FITEC - Forest Industries Training & Education Council
FITEC was established under the Industry Training Act 1992, the Tertiary Education Reform Bill 2002 and the Industry Training (Amendment) Act 2002.FITEC is owned by industry partners and charged with ensuring excellence in all aspects of education and training.
7 FICA - Forest Industry Contractors Assn
Formed in 2002 by a nationwide group of forestry contractors, with the support of the NZ Forest Owners Association, with the aim of improving and fostering development in the forestry contracting industry.
8 FIEA - The Forest Industry Engineering Association
The Forest Industry Engineering Association (FIEA) is an independent non-profit association, which encourages the adoption of new technologies by wood processing and manufacturing companies.
9 Future Forest Research
Future Forests Research Limited (FFR) is partnership between the New Zealand forest industry and New Zealand’s primary forest research organisation, Scion. This partnership brings a strong focus to research and development to improve the international competitiveness of New Zealand forestry and delivers wider environmental and community benefits.
10 Kyoto Forestry Associatoin
The Kyoto Forestry Association represents forest owners who have planted more than 200,000 ha of plantation forests in New Zealand since 1989. The carbon stored by these forests during the first Kyoto commitment period from 2008-2012 will provide most of the emission credits New Zealand will earn during this period.
11 New Zealand Pine Manufacturers' Association
The PMA is an association representing New Zealand's leading pine manufacturing exporters.
12 The NZ Timber Industry Federation
The NZ Timber Industry Federation is a private organisation representing the interests of NZ sawmillers and others with an affiliation to the sawmilling industry
13 SCION
Scion is a Crown Research Institute dedicated to research covering the entire forestry value chain and related areas of biomaterials science
14 Log Truck Safety Council
Information for the travelling public about the log truck segment of the NZ forest industry and what it is doing to make the roads of New Zealand safer to drive on. It is also a forum for the travelling public to use to report incidents of log truck driver behaviour (good and bad) and to get feedback from the operators concerned.
